Looking for Study Buddy for F4 & F5 for December 2014 papers

Hi there, I'm planning on using the BPP distance learning online (but not online live) facility for the exams (I understand material will be available from early June to purchase. I'm based in Kent in the UK so would be great to build up a support network and help one another through these papers.
If anyone's interested then please feel free to respond on here or email at chris1975z@btinternet.com

Hi Vivek. Distance is no constraint for me. Really just looking at building up a support network to help one another along so really useful to have a study buddy irrespective of location. The release date for the material is based on an email received from bpp themselves a couple of weeks ago so hopefully it's correct? In the interim I have been using the Open Tuition website notes and lectures for F5 (I expect to struggle more with this than F4). Ideally i would like to get onto the f4 paper as soon as it becomes a cbe (to enable resits!) and then really focus on f5 again. The December specimen f5 paper is avaiable on acca website and first section worth 40 marks is a vast shift away from the traditional questions. If you want to discuss further then would be great to hear from you and my email details are as above.

Kind Regards

Chris

Hi Sabiha

Already joined those groups - are you suggesting I post this request within those groups as I've received no response thus far (other than yours).

Kind Regards

Hi Christopher,

I'm also planning on using the BPP distance learning online (not online live) facility for the exams. However I think the material will be available a little late for the December 2014 attempt since the format of the exams will be changing for the December attempt. F4 in particular will become a CBE. F5 format will also be undergoing a change. I hail from India and I would also be attempting the F4 and F5 papers in the December 2014 attempt. So if distance is not a constraint for you perhaps I could be your study buddy as I would be attempting the same papers in the same session. Looking to hear from you.

Regards,
Vivek Ramadas.

Hi Chris,

You really seem to have done your homework. Nice to know that you've already commenced your preparations in all earnestness. I'll check the ACCA website for specimen papers for F4 and F5 (didn't know that they were out already). I'll take your word regarding the BPP material. Are you working as well? I would love to discuss matters with you. Just let me know which is more convenient for you - this forum or email or skype or facebook. Anything is fine with me. Just glad to know that I have a kindred soul in this journey. I'm also planning to get F4 out of the way as soon as possible so that I can concentrate on F5. However I generally find theory papers more difficult. So I would really appreciate it if you could give me some tips regarding how to go about the theory papers.

Kind Regards,
Vivek.

Hi Vivek

My private email address as above is best form of contact. No specimen for f4 that I've seen thus far - just the f5. I work full time as an FD in industry (and I have a 9 month old daughter) so time management is essential for any realistic chance of success!

Hi Chris, I'm based in Surrey- also working full time and taking F4 and F5 in December 2014. I will be looking to take the CBE for F4 which I believe is available after 19 November 2014. Have only just started on my F4 book and onto chapter 2. Thanks, Nicky

Hi Nicky

Great to hear from you. You're right on the date for the CBE F4 set-up and good luck to you. I'm delaying the F4 until the early part of next year (and plan to sit 4 more papers over the year too). I'm focusing all attention on the F5 paper (just finished the BPP study text and my online lectures start at the beginning of September). Just really going through each section as early revision/recapping at the moment. Judging by the pass rates it appears one of the hardest papers at the skills stage!

If you want to link up on the F5 paper then would be great to hear from you. My personal email address is chris1975z@btinternet.com

Hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regards

Chris
