MSc on route to membership

Dear Sirs,

I have received ACCA update for MSc from UOL and ACCA. I would like to know clearly for some points as below.

-If I have 2 optional papers to finish ACCA, which path should I eligible?
-If I am allowed to do MSc, how long does it take to finish the degree?
-If I must finish my 2 option papers by June 2017, am I still eligible to do MSc?
-If I finish MSc, I will be ACCA qualified without needing to sit any exam for last 2 papers and got Master degree?
-If I cannot register in this June, when is next registration?

If you could please advise me on this, I would be much appreciated. If I am eligible, I am thinking to do this as I have not much time left for ACCA to finish.

Many thanks.
Yours faithfully,
Ei Ei

Ei Ei,It seems nobody like answering important questions here, they're busy looking for study buddies or just under exam stress because they're not really prepared for the upcoming exam.

Maybe i can help, but be advice I did directly ask ACCA the same question that you've posted on here(at least one).

To my knowledge,Msc UOL has different pathways for ACCA students and for ACCA members/affiliates.

I will concentrate on pathway 1.

ACCA students who have passed papers P1 thru P3.
Meaning you have passed all knowledge and Fundamental papers and P1 and P2 and P3.

From what I read, when you opt for the Msc Professional Accountancy degree, you will be required to write and pass 3 modules from the university, and after having passed those 3 modules, you will get credit for your last 2 ACCA options.

The 3 UOL modules are:

1.Strategic Financial Management
2.Strategic Performance Management

3.Strategic Financial strategy project (Thesis)

What does this mean?

It means if you chose to pursue the Msc Professional Accountancy from the UOL and pass, then you don't have to write the two ACCA option papers namely P4 and P5 because Strategic Financial Management takes the place of ACCA P4 Advanced Financial Management, and Strategic Performance Management takes the place of ACCA P5 Advanced Performance Management.

To me that implies you will be awarded the Msc Professional Accountancy from University of London and be an ACCA member, assuming you have your three(3) work experience in the bag.

Fellow students feel free to correct me if I have misrepresented myself, but this is how I understand it.

I don't have the answers to your other questions, but I think you're eligible to pathway 1.

Msc UOL only covers P4 & P5,so my question now is,if I finished ACCA and P4 & P5 were my chosen options, should I choose to pursue Msc UOL,will I get to write just the Thesis only?

Best way to get an answer is by directly emailing ACCA,they'll reply with a satisfactory answer within 24 hours, don't expect an answer from these guys here,it'll just be a correction of what've said or an addition of the obvious, stuff you can read up on the ACCA web yourself.

Thank you, Dennis for your detailed explanation. I first thought ACCA might answer our questions here. My bad.

Well, I am not sure yet I should finish ACCA first or just switch to MSc? Are you also sitting P5 in June exam?

Good luck for your exam.

Chao too.
