Hi, I’m down to my last 4 professional level papers, and I’m planning to attempt AAA before SBR and SBL,kindly advise, thank you.
I personally recommend you
to take SBR before attempt AAA
Or take AAA and SBR together
Otherwise you will find yourself lack of sufficient SBR knowledge when
attempting the audit risk questions and
any other kind of financial reporting theory based questions like discuss how to audit provision
AAA required you to very familiar with SBR knowledge so that you can pass with confident
SBL will helping you to get some idea on business risk questions, it boost up your creativity, which is essential in answering business risk question
It is better to follow the sequence unless you already have knowledge on SBL and SBR
By the way ,if you want extra practice , you also can try ICAEW corporate reporting, this paper is combination of AAA and SBR,it can be purchase through ICAEW official website
It definitely push up your confident when attempting ACCA exam
Hi Sonia, it wouldn't be advisable to attempt AAA before SBR as AAA draws on some of the standards covered in SBR
I am going to attend both SBR and AAA in June. I would suggest to either take them together or SBR 1st as you would need tht knowledge for AAA.
Looking for a study partner to if you are interested.
Attempting AAA before SBR is not a wise decision in my opinion
Because students use SBR knowledge (ifrs and ias ) to attempt AAA Risk questions and audit reporting questions in which examiner mostly ask about accounting standards.
So how can someone answer a scenario related to SBR standard if not studied.
This is my personal opinion.
I personally pass AAA becayof better understanding of SBR concepts. Like (provision , earning per share , Deffered tax , Related party transactions , ias 16, ifrs 9 , ias 23 , 21 , ias 19 , ias 10 ,ifrs 15 and 16)
So all these standards u study in SBR and then its implications in AAA
If you can or normally attempt 2 papers per sitting, then it will be helpful to do the SBR and AAA together. Otherwise, SBR goes before the AAA. When i did mine then, i did P2 and P7 together and got both on first attempt.
All the best.
