Self-study or register with APL (Approved Learning Partner)?

Hi! I'm a new student, haven't taken any exams yet. I was exempt from 4 papers, so it's my first time to actually take an ACCA exam. I plan to sit for FR this December. Self-study will save me a lot and I think this is the subject that I am good at. But it's been a long long long time since I had sit an exam. So I'm also considering to register with APLs here in Singapore. What do you think? Please share your thoughts. Thank you for your time. Stay safe!

I would advise you to register with approved ALP.I can suggest one good ALP in India.”KAPPANS SCHOOl OF ACCOUNTANCY , Kochi”.The faculties are really great.Especially FR is taking Mr Basil Neelambra who is really an amazing tutor. You can check in youtube for his lectures .”learn with Basil Neelambra”.
Now this institution is having online class and if we cannot attend the class as live they will provide you recordings.
I can send you BBP revision book, it might help you
Hi Joy, I am going to play devils advocate here and say you should try to self study. I have pass 3 out of 4 professional level papers first attempt self study and many of my peers have done so as well. I know what I said it's purely anecdotal but it shows it's possible. So if funds are tight you can try this route. Either way good luck and hope the boarder between our countries reopens soon
Hi Michael , I am planning to self study for my first ACCA exam FR as I have exemptions from the rest of the skills and knowledge ones. What are your tips on self study? Which text book did you study with ?

If you can afford it is always better to get tuition, however for the for the foundation and skills levek papers I think it is possible to pass these by self study. It is tricker at the professional level and I would definitely recommend getting tuition for those. Good luck!
