The only thing we can do is practice and practice. Knowledge is not enough and we need to learn how to apply.

If you are in an accounts preparation role this will be easier as your accounts may be audited and so you will have direct exposure to the kind of questions and testing that auditors carry out.

However, if you are just studying then its can be more difficult. I would suggest, for example, trying to use examples from daily life to reinforce your learning. For example, what controls are in place around getting a passport - proof of address etc would be needed. Although this is not accounting related it is a type of control.

i think that knowledge alone is not enough to pass the f8 paper. it is more of a practical paper and knowing how to apply what is obvious to the scenario the examiner gives. as an f8 full time student (international variant) , my bit of advice is to practice as much past exam questions as possible and not just learn the answers but understand the reason for the answer.

i would like to take part in discussing ans sharing ideas and helping each other along the way.

all the best!!
