Feedback P5 Exam Jun15

Hi Students,

Do you have any feedback after the P5 exam?

In my point of view, the Q1 was not clear at all..and after doing all the past paper exams and studying all book, it is quite frustrating!!
However, I am thinking that hold students keeping repeating this paper is quite unfair, as they passed 13 exams before..
Moreover, 29% or 30% can not be a pass rate for an option paper,It would also be more appropriate that the option papers agree a common pass rate.

I found the paper horrible! I found it very difficult to come to terms with the requirements in most parts and despite all my hard work preparing, I badly let myself down.

Please let me know how you all got on.

yes like the two of you, I found it hard to figure out what the questions were asking for, spend about 8 mins of the 15 min reading time just trying to figure out the requirement for Q1, considering time is precious!!

In the end, I had to move on to other questions and come back to Q1, all in all I must have read it 7 times and still not sure got it right, it is very annoying after spending so much time studying and doing all those past papers from the exam kit and downloading PP going back 5 years!!!

I suppose will just give myself a 2 week break then back to practice papers to re-sit in September

Completed full text and most of Alex Watts past papers, prepared more than I did for any of the other 13  exams I have passed, as I failed this last time round.  Came out feeling completely demoralised and quite dull as I couldn't understand the requirements for this one.  Unlike any of his past paper questions he has set.  Not sure where to go from here as I know I couldn't have tried any harder revising for this.

I feel for you Guys, I saved myself this horrible feeling by taking a break from P5 this whole year. I passed all the other papers within 2 years but have sat P5 3 times, always getting between 46-49 marks. That is 1.5yrs of my study life gone to waste. I am not a lazy or dumb student, i just dont know whats wrong with P5. When i failed Dec 2014 sitting i nearly went into depression but i decided to take a break instead. I however wanted to know how June 2014 was and what I see here is not encouraging at all. Anyway, till 2016, am stress free. Pray to *** that they change Alex by then.

Hi Guys, I really appreciate what we are all going through and we just need to encourage ourselves and fight on. The other side of the coin is that ACCA is a professional body and just as a medical student will go through the mill to become a professional, we also have to go through the same thing. Honestly, I would have had little respect for the profession if it was that easy to pass. The ACCA exams is an exam that when you write you're not sure of whether you will or not until the results are in. Even though P5 is a fairly difficult paper, I think the standard should be maintained as such. For me Alex should not be changed. Once others are passing it means there's something they do that those who are not passing are not doing.

For me we need to be grilled properly so that once we pass we are very proud of ourselves that we made it. I strongly believe that we can do it. Let's go for it guys!!! I wish you all the best in your June results. You may disagree with me but that's my opinion.

Hi all,
I will be re-sitting P5 in September for the 3rd time. I am so frustrated after failing the June sitting that I have been unable to fully concentrate. The margin of my failure in June was simple shocking as I actually thought coming out the exam I was close to 50%. I had taken additional time off work and practiced practiced practised past exams. The most demoralising aspect of failing the June exam was I had performed worse than my first attempt in Dec'14... For the Dec'14 exam I suffered an arm injury in the lead up to the exam and was unable to practice exam questions until the week before the exam. So minimal preparation for Dec'14.... Just failed. Significant preparation for June... Failed miserable. I guess what I am saying is that this exam is pure pot luck, a flip of a coin, so for Sept I am going to adopt a casual approach after all the paper is common sense. Am I mad?

Hi everyone,

I found P5 paper like a puzzle. Q1 was very frustrating and to lengthy. The understanding of requirement is key and i wasted my so much on it. We need to break the requirement to save our time.

For Dec'15 attempt, i have planned to go through the requirement in a different manner. It would help me to save my time and write more relevant and concise answer.

Guys share any suggestions you have, so everyone could tackle the paper properly.
