WHICH PART OF THE F6 SOUTH AFRICAN VERSIONS TAX IS NOT EXAMINABLE

I will be writing the F6 (SOUTH AFRICAN VERSIONS IN JUNE 2018) as I reside in South Africa and I have just bought the prescribed text book yesterday which is titled "NOTES ON SOUTH AFRICAN INCOME TAX " BY Phillip Haupt.
The text book is 1040 pages long and my assumption is that there is a lot of stuff that is not examinable-can someone tell me the pages and or chapters of the text book that are NOT examinable? I have tried to follow this up using the ACCA syllabus guidance trying to follow chapters or topic to be excluded but it is NOT HELPING ME , The simplest way would be to reference using the book and referring to page numbers.

I study alone and thus do not have liberty of asking any tuition providers and furthermore what complicates
this is that the text book is not ACCA written

Hi Nqobi.
I kinda have that question to ask, however for me i once did Income Tax with ICB at Boston college up to so far i'm not sure if South African ACCA F6 how it looks like but if it based on south african tax i can be your help with calculation, although i still need to do ACCA F6 due to a point i applied for F6 exemption i was not granted cause i wrote the exam of ICB Income tax in 2011,which it was long time but i still remember the procedure. However like i said as for ACCA i'm sure about.

Maybe we can do something.

You need to buy the questions on SA TAX book as well. Because it keeps you within scope. Otherwise although syllabus will guide you there is a depth to most of the parts only reserved for P6.
I used syllabus and the Q and A book. Just stay away from the wealth taxes and stick to The Gross income framework. S1, s10, s11, s12, parts of s13, s23, 4th schedule, s26, 7th and 8th schedule.
Hope that helps.
