AFM - Not studied in over a year

Hi Guys,

Long story short, I completed my degree last year with all 9 exemptions for the F papers. So I have never sat a "real" ACCA exam. I did start studying for P1 & P2 this January, with the hope to sit exams in March. I ended up getting a full-time job midway in a different city so left studying. I feel like I gave up. To put it into context at the time I purchased the Kaplan books and the aCOWtancy classroom (P2 only).

Now I have settled into my job, my employer offers study support so are willing to pay for my study materials. I have thought about the Kaplan Live Online (the in-person classroom will be after work also but already started, also it is too much in a day). I have thought about purchasing the aCOWtancy classroom for this module (doubt it would be part of the study support so will fund this myself).

My question is more about the approach to this all. Is it good to use multiple study materials? I am thinking about Kaplan Live online, Opentuition & aCOWtancy. I think this will provide me with more examples/videos to refer to. Is it worth it though or will it lead to stress and confusion.

Bearing in mind I have not sat an exam or opened a accountancy book in a while, how do I approach studying daily after work? Again, in context I have a long commute to work and sometimes finish very late. Also, energy levels are low in evenings. This is my first time working whilst studying so it is not like I have full days to study. Only an hour or two in evening.

I have University notes too for recap. But my issue is that the Kaplan online classroom does not start until end of September, so for time being what is the best thing to do?

Would anyone recommend aCOWtancy if I am going to use Kaplan + Opentuition? I don't want to just waste money on material that won't benefit me. Any help on study plans?

Any study buddies around?

I suggest you familiarise yourself with all the resources available on ACCA's www
https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p4.html

If you have already decided on a paid-for course using content of an Approved Content provider I suggest you don't risk confusion by looking at multiple resources on the same topics that might take different approaches.

If you have decided against a paid-for course and will self-study with low-cost/free resource providers you should invest in a Revision Kit published by an Approved Content provider to make sure you have sufficient exam style and standard question practice.
