Is it worth to appeal failed exam?

Hi,

Long story short got my AAA results. 48% Fail. Has anyone ever appealed their similar failure and what was the outcome?
I don't know if it is worth doing, because I did study hard and I did wrote it all. I don't know what I did wrong and the fact that there are 20 marks on professionalism doesn't help, because I still don't understand how those get awarded.

Thanks

Hi,

I have failed one of my exams (AAA) with 49 and I made an appeal, hoping to get one additional point. Unfortunately, it is lost money. I am not certain if they really take the paper and analyze it once again. They are totally nontransparent and they are not showing you anything. All you will get is an email letting you know that the mark will remain unchanged. So, my advice is to pay your exam and try to pass it instead of paying the appeal fee and get nothing. Good luck.

20 marks for professionalism? I am assuming you’re referring to the professional skills marks, if so this is only the case for SBL. The professional marks in AAA are only 4 in total.

I failed AAA 1 time. I think appealing is just waste of money and time. Never heard of it being helpful.

Second time I read all the handbooks by IFAC plus did the kit and passed.

Plus you need to be very good @ SBR.

If your script gets 45 to the 49 marks then it is double checked by a second person so as ACCA to make sure that they have calculated correctly the marks.
If you apply for re examination of your script, they will only check if the marks added previously are correctly added. They are not going through your answers again to see if you deserved more marks.
So it will almost definitely be a waste of your time and money as ACCA has already done this procedure internally..
