Dear Harsha
Please come out of the self study mode.Clearly it is not going to help at all.
Please take up coaching at any approved tuition provider.

In case no one is nearby attend online - live classes (not recorded voices)
This will immensely help a lot.

Kaplan publications are the best ones.So continue with them.
Additionally buy the exam kit and revision cards from Kaplan .THat will help you a lot.

Please develop the habit of taking notes from main text book and writing it in your own words in a notebook. You can do this upto July 31st.
After that you need to revise from your notes and solve questions from the exam kit.
Please sit in exam conditions and solve the past exam papers from ACCA portal.

Once you follow this for both subjects you will be able to surely clear in September.
Ensure that you have good handwriting using a black ball point pen.

If you had failed for 2 times then you should abit focus more and practise more questions... If you are planning for 2 exams than prefer numerical and theoritical exams not both numerical... I would suggest you not to go with PM for now with FR b'coz you might get problem to practise both at a time...

Hi Harsha,
I understand your situation and I guess most of us were there at some or the other time.
If the score is above 30 I think it is Practice that is lacking. If you have gone through the text and are confident that you are clear with the concepts, this tim start directly with Question practise. Practice is the key to pass. I would suggest you to practice both Kaplan and BPP study kits and any other possible specimen questions as well. You will surely pass.
If you feel the understanding of concepts is missing, opt for either low cost online tution or other free content. Hope this helps.
P.S: I also struggled with that paper, so I understand the helplessness

Harsha, I sit fro FR exam in Dec, 19 and cleared in qst attempt. As per your marks, it seems you lack the understanding of concepts and you should clear your concepts well before practicing. FR is doesn't just require calculation but mainly application of concepts. FR is not about formulas that you can learn and give exams.

You should buy and study the 'Studu Text' from BPP as well and practice simulatneously.

Do not try to take concepts lightly but understand them and apply. Complete the study text in 30 days and then practice from BPP & Kaplan questions given in 'Study text' book.

After that revise the concepts again & practice from Revision kit, and I would suggest buy both BPP & Kaplan Revision kit as you have more than sufficient time before the exam.

On opentution.com you can find the notes for free.

The more you practice, the easier would be the exam.

Hi,
I understand your pain. I failed twice, I was very confident second time and failed with 45%. I just passed with 51% the third time and I can say I was shocked. I've done all the revision kits from BPP & Kaplan and also previous exams. I think the material is so vast and the questions so so tricky and I am always losing a lot of time on A& B questions. I don't think is a secret, just do it again and try to write your own notes and practice more and more.Good luck!

Hi Harsha,

I’m sorry for hearing that you couldn’t clear FM, I cleared FM back in July 2018 (second attempt), I was using Kaplan study kit also. For me i think Kaplan books are great, however I wasn’t prepared for the first attempt, the way is was practicing was wrong, I was stuck more with the text book rather than the questions book, in the second attempt I stuck with the questions book and started answering as much questions as I could and referring to the text book only when I need more clarification or if i’m stuck with a question.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Mohammed
