Accounting treatment for cosharing expenses

Hi, Just would to clarify on the accounting treatment for shared expenses. Suppose 2 companies coshare rent for an office and Company A pays full rent and invoices Company B for its share. Is offsetting of the expense allowed or must Company A recognise the amount received from Company B as other income? Thanks
