Purpose of APM
As an APM self-study student, it's important to understand where APM fits in the broad subject of Accountancy beginning with the financial statements and jn particular the Cash Flow Statements which will be of great interest to potential/existing investors for a given company. A good starting point for the APM is to consider the Co's cash flow statement, ratio analysis regarding performance, liquidity and debt/equity. How can we jmprove Oerational, Financing and Investing activities to make the company more attractive to shareholders who are owed dividends (e.g.) for their investment. Also, what improvements can be made to financial performances? A good example would be several cash flow projects using NPV/IRR of discounted cash flows. Non-financial data such as compliance towards industry norms and effective performance reporting (via the performance hierarchy). This is my perspective of APM and this will help me to understand the scenario exam questions. I'm sure this is the best prerequisite/assumed knowledge to be remembered in my exam.
