Is there any advantage to taking SBL exam before AFM? Would appreciate any advice :)

If this is your first professional level paper then yes doing sbl would be better, as it is very application based and would aid you grasp the exam technique better. AFM is much more knowledge based. Doing SBL first could ease things for you

A word of advice " Dont take SBL lightly" .It was the first exam I failed in my ACCA journey . I would say If you are new to professional Module .Take SBR its easy and will give you an idea of what you are up against . Always make sure you have read ALL technical articles and examiner's comments . And IF you have already given SBR , I assume you know how hard and different professional module is from applied skills one. So there is no plus point of giving SBL before AFM . I have given both , SBL is an independent subject not really that related to any subject however it contains topics from other subject such as regression analysis , relevant costing time series anaylsis. That's all....
