PER
Hello everyone!

i am very new here in the community but i have already completed the exam and ESPM.  Now, i start doing PER and  i do have some concerns.

Firstly, i used to work for KPMG as an assistance auditor for 1 year and 8 months (from 2014 to 2016 ) but then i resigned to continues my ACCA study (as during that time i had no time to commit to study). The thing is during my time at KPMG, i didn't get  KPMG emplyer to acknowledge or sign off my PER form, so i wonder if now after like 7 years later i still can ask them to sign off my PER form ?  Secondly, i am working and sensior auditor at my local firm since 2021 but my current employer doesn't hold ACCA but instead he has CPA (CPA Australia). I wonder if he is eligible to sign on my PER form?

Any advices and recommedation is apprecitated.

Best Regards,

Sambath

Hi Sambath, have a look at our PER FAQs on the website. If you are using previous experience then the person who supervised your work at that time must be able to review and sign-off your experience.

There seems to be some relevant info to help answer your queries, which I've included below:

  • Can I use work experience gained before commencing the ACCA Qualification?

Yes. You can use experience from previous job roles (before or after registering as an ACCA student) to help you claim a performance objective. There is no specific time limit.

However, the qualified person who supervised your work at that time must be able to review and sign-off the performance objectives and time you claim on the basis of this experience.

Also, as the profession continually evolves, consider carefully if experience gained more than five years ago is still relevant.

  • Do I have to work for an organisation that has been approved by ACCA?

No. You do not have to obtain your practical experience in an organisation which has been approved by ACCA. Although there are advantages to achieving your PER if you do work for an ACCA Approved Employer.

Hope this helps :)
