PER supervisor

PER supervisor
Good evening,

What I am trying to clarify is whether the practical experience supervisor that I need to review my work has to be an active member of their professional body (paying the membership subscription after becoming a chartered accountant)? There are three potential persons that would like to support me in this journey but I do not know if this will work as they do not pay their membership subscription. They are qualified with CIMA, ACCA and AAT.

Would you be able to help as I have not found this details question in respect of PER?

Hello! Some information on PER supervisors can be found via this link - but I've lifted the relevant section for you and added below. There's also a lot of useful info on our PER FAQs page.

In most cases your practical experience supervisor will be your line manager or the person you report to on particular projects or activities.

In order to sign off your performance objectives your practical experience supervisor should be someone who:

  • is a qualified accountant*
  • works closely with you
  • knows your work.

* A qualified accountant is a member of an IFAC (International Federation of Accountants) member body and/or a body recognised by law in your country.

Hope this helps :)
