Not new to ACCA but starting study again
Hi,
I started ACCA 20 years ago!!
After sailing through AAT and passing nine ACCA exams some personal and work related issues got in the way of studying and I stoped in 2007.
Since starting work in finance in 1999 I've been lucky and have managed to maintain a reasonably successful career being a management accountant, a financial controller and other positions working directly for FD's/CFO's.
I'm now looking to finish my exams (just for the sake of completeness!). I only have four exams left to do so I should just get on and get them out of the way!
I used to use BPP audio CDs to learn the syllabus of each exam - this was great as I could listen to the CD every day on the way to/from work and you would eventually learn the content in a similar way to learning the words to a song - it would eventually go in and it was easy to recall sections of the audio in exams.
Are there any similar resources available now?
If not, what would be the best approach? - I'm not a fan of classroom based lessons as I'm no good at making notes and I like to ponder things until I understand them. I've tried the ACCA podcasts but they're not that good. I have done some exams by simply 'reading the book' but that's an inefficient way to go - it takes a lot of time to read a text book and it doesn't all go in.

hey there, I think it's a great decision that you have decided to comeback and finish Acca.
wrt your question, I don't think there is any such resources for studying the strategic and advance papers now which will guarantee you a pass mark, best you can do is buy a course from an approved learning provider that provides you with recorded lecture and readymade notes so you don't have to make your own and you can just skim through them while travelling.
but you should be aware that question practice is key while attempting any paper, so I would recommend on buying an exam kit (BPP or KAPLAN both works) and solving it thoroughly.
